The VP of Lending Energy supports organizational goals by driving excellence, quality service, and accountability. This position plays a key role in generating and managing commercial loan opportunities related to solar energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability, and community development. The role focuses on identifying, pursuing, and securing loan opportunities aligned with sustainability objectives.

VP of Lending Energy Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate loan opportunities that align with sustainability goals, promoting solar, renewable energy, and community development
  • Build and maintain relationships with developers, financial institutions, and stakeholders in commercial real estate to create new lending opportunities
  • Work with clients to understand their credit needs and offer appropriate loan products, guiding them through the application process
  • Collaborate with analysts to ensure loan opportunities meet underwriting criteria and organizational goals
  • Represent the organization at industry events to promote sustainability initiatives and generate leads
  • Conduct market research to identify trends in energy efficiency and sustainability, and stay updated on relevant government programs
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategies for increasing sustainable energy lending and contribute to marketing materials
  • Perform additional duties as needed

VP of Lending Energy Requirements:
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven ability to close deals
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, solar and renewable energy, sustainability initiatives, and relevant federal/state programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and deliver excellent customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools
  • Ability to meet business goals while fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate lending, business development, or sales, particularly in energy finance or sustainability
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIM) are a plus
