LaSalle Network is partnering with a holding company in the Joplin, MO area. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join their team. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations and providing tax planning and advisory services to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of individual taxation, excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Tax Accountant Responsibilities:
- Entering data into Form 1040 alongside tax-related paperwork like W-2s, 1099-MISCs, 1099-NECs and records of stock sales from 1099-B forms
- Utilizing summarization abilities for bank statements, categorizing expenses and income using software like Excel or EasyAcct
- Engaging with clients to address inquiries and gather necessary documentation for completing tax filings
- Demonstrating proficiency in various tax forms including W-2s, 1099-MISCs, 1099-NECs and managing stock sales
- Previous experience preferred in completing Form 1040 and associated schedules for clients involved in self-employment, rental properties or farming activities
Tax Accountant Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates with one to three years of experience in preparing individual tax returns
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook, is essential
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills are highly valued
- The ability to multitask effectively and collaborate with team members is crucial
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Experience with QuickBooks is recommended but not mandatory
