LaSalle Network had partnered with a global Consumer Packaged Goods company with a strong presence in the Chicago suburbs to identify a new Senior Manager of Sales Planning & Insights.
The Senior Manager of Sales Planning & Insights will play a pivotal role in driving growth and profitability for our CPG client. This role is responsible for leading the sales planning and insights function, utilizing data-driven strategies to enhance sales performance and optimize the go-to-market approach.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze market trends and develop actionable insights to guide strategic decision-making. This role will be in office two days a week in Mt. Prospect, IL and the position is budgeted up to a base of $165,000 with additional annual bonus for the right candidate.
Sr. Manager of Sales Planning & Insights Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for the CPG client, aligning it with overall business objectives
- Create accurate sales forecasts by analyzing historical data, market trends and product performance
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities and threats, providing valuable insights for product development and market expansion
- Monitor and analyze competitor activity, pricing strategies and market share to identify areas for improvement and growth
- Utilize advanced analytics tools to extract actionable insights from sales data, helping to optimize pricing, promotions and distribution strategies
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment and maximize sales effectiveness
- Develop and track key performance metrics to evaluate the success of sales initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvements
- Manage and mentor a team of sales planning and insights professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
Sr. Manager of Sales Planning & Insights Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field (master's degree preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in sales planning, market research or related roles within the CPG industry
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and the use of analytics tools - Nielsen or IRI
- Proven experience in sales strategy development and forecasting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Leadership and team management experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time (local and mainly to various vendors or customer meetings)
This position is located in the Chicago suburbs and requires a physical presence in the office twice a week. The remainder of the workweek may be performed remotely as needed.
The base salary for this position is up to $165,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to the base salary, our client offers a competitive benefits package, including healthcare, retirement plans and professional development opportunities.
