Job Description

Our client, a global logistics solutions provider located in Arlington Heights, IL, is looking for a Shipping Optimization Specialist to help continue the growth and expansion of their company. The Shipping Optimization Specialist will be responsible for driving business growth through identifying and acquiring new customers requiring shipping and logistics solutions. By leveraging your expertise in the industry, you'll not only prospect for potential clients but also provide insights into enhancing their shipping systems. Your role will involve cultivating strong client relationships, collaborating with internal teams to devise tailored shipping strategies and staying attuned to industry trends.
 
Shipping Optimization Specialist Responsibilities:  

  • Seek out, pinpoint and onboard new clients seeking shipping and logistics services
  • Identify areas of improvement, modification or modernization within prospective clients' shipping systems
  • Foster enduring relationships with current clients, prioritizing their satisfaction and loyalty
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create personalized shipping solutions aligned with client needs and industry standards
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to unearth potential business prospects and remain informed about industry developments
  • Craft and present compelling sales proposals and presentations to potential clients
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing arrangements to establish mutually beneficial sales agreements
  • Maintain meticulous records of sales endeavors, client interactions and the sales pipeline using CRM software
  • Surpass or meet sales quotas, playing a pivotal role in the company's advancement

Shipping Optimization Specialist Requirements: 
  • Previous experience in sales within the small package shipping sector or a related field
  • Profound understanding of shipping and logistics, encompassing various transportation modes, customs protocols and supply chain management
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation proficiencies
  • Self-driven with the capability to function both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Exceptional organizational skills combined with effective time management
  • Proficiency in employing CRM tools and other sales-centric software
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or a related domain preferred, or possess 3+ years of experience in a sales role within a significant shipping carrier
