Senior Staff Accountant

LaSalle Network has partnered with one of the largest non-profit organizations in the Midwest in their search for a Grant Accountant. Assisting over 1 million people annually, this organization leads with a people-first culture that prioritizes work-life balance with impressive benefits. With office across the Chicagoland area, this organization has continued to grow and change with the communities they serve. They’re looking for a Grant Accountant to join their growing Chicago office. 

Aside from the core accounting responsibilities, this Grant Accountant will work cross functionally with other teams in the organization and play a critical role in managing federal and state grants. This role is budgeted for a $55,000-$60,000 base salary. 

Grant Accountant Responsibilities: 

• Perform month end close responsibilities including journal entries, variance analysis, account reconciliations and management inquiries 
• Manage federal and state grant funding to ensure compliance with federal and state rules and regulations 

• Implement accounting process improves to streamline and improve accuracy 
• Prepare complex ad-hoc reporting and analysis as assigned and present findings to higher management 
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as they are assigned  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business 
• 1-3 years of experience out of a non-profit preferred  
• Prior grant accounting experience preferred
