Job Description

LaSalle Network has partnered with a global food processing and manufacturing company in the northern suburbs of Chicago. They are looking to hire a Senior Purchasing Manager to help them grow their business. As a Senior Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspect of procurement, sourcing, vendor management and contract negotiation.  

Senior Purchasing Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting market research and supplier assessments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select suppliers that meet quality standards and cost-effectiveness
  • Implement just-in-time (JIT) and lean inventory principles to improve working capital efficiency
  • Negotiate contracts and request RFPs

Senior Purchasing Manager Requirements:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field; master's degree a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with purchasing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
