Job Description

Our client in the financial services industry is looking for a Senior IT Business Analyst to add to their team. The Senior IT Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall strategic objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, communication and project management skills. 


Senior IT Business Analyst Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and collaborate on technology solutions, both existing and new, to decrease complexity, manual work and friction through elimination, automation and knowledge transfer 

  • Apply business analysis principles, theories and concepts to evaluate and improve business processes, anticipating requirements and developing effective solutions 

  • Use various methods such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops and process design to obtain and document business requirements 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the business analyst discipline within the business 

  • Work on the most complex projects, resolving issues creatively and effectively through in-depth evaluation 

  • Collaborate across business groups, reconciling disparate requirements to arrive at solutions suitable for all stakeholders 

  • Act as an information source and communicator between business stakeholders and technology, including senior and executive leadership 

  • Create and present project proposals to steering committees in collaboration with IT management and stakeholders 

  • Produce reporting and analysis on technology solutions, identifying metrics to measure success and presenting findings to the business 

  • Lead design sessions, document and maintain functional and non-functional requirements and facilitate their implementation through project lifecycles 

  • Interact with various stakeholders to elicit and clarify business, market and project requirements 

  • Assess technologies, create developmental specifications and participate in testing cycles 

  • Enhance the quality of technology solutions by analyzing technical systems and business models and implementing new business technology 

  • Ensure the quality of technology solutions by driving the design and review of test cases 

  • Participate in the vendor evaluation process, planning, testing, training and implementation of new systems and integrations 

Senior IT Business Analyst Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, MIS, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred) 

  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification (preferred) 

  • CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis) certification (preferred) 

  • 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in internal business and/or technical analysis 

  • 3-5 years of experience with Financial Institutions (preferred) 

  • 3-5 years of experience with process engineering (preferred) 

  • 3-5 years of experience with various forms of documentation formats and tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
