LaSalle Network is looking for a Senior Demand Planner for one of our clients who is a leader in the confectionary CPG industry. This role is critical in developing strategic demand forecasts that impact business-wide operations. As a key decision-maker, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine forecasting models, manage demand plans and support the company’s overall supply chain goals. This role offers a mix of on-site and remote work, requiring candidates to be based in Chicago, IL.
Senior Demand Planner Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and refine 36-month demand forecasts, complementing Sales' 18-month projections
- Analyze historical sales data, demand drivers and market conditions to produce accurate and actionable forecasts
- Validate demand forecasts using metrics such as sell-through rates, distribution coverage and market penetration
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain teams to integrate promotional plans, new product launches and market intelligence into demand plans
- Lead monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to align forecasts with organizational goals
- Track and improve forecasting KPIs, including accuracy, bias, forecast value add and fill rate
- Provide input to Supply Planning for inventory strategies, product phase-outs and new product launches
- Use advanced tools such as SAP IBP, Tableau and Circana/IRI data to refine and validate forecasts
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives
Senior Demand Planner Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience required
- 3+ years in Demand Planning or data analytics, preferably in the food & beverage or FMCG industry
- Experience in grocery or micro markets is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience managing large datasets
- Familiarity with Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and S&OP processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage shifting priorities and demonstrate high tolerance for ambiguity
- Experience with SAP IBP, SAP APO, Tableau, BOBJ and forecasting systems
- Knowledge of consumer insights data (Circana/IRI) is a strong plus
