Job Description

We are partnering with a leading technology company based in Washington DC with a newly created Senior Controller opening. As the Senior Controller for the entire organization, you will have responsibility for all month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings according to US GAAP and for the required US GAAP statutory reporting. 

The Senior Controller must be able to maintain contact with different stakeholders of the business and within corporate to keep track of the development of the company. The Senior Controller will report directly to the CFO with the goal of becoming the CFO in the near future.

Senior Controller Responsibilities:

  • Overall full accounting for the entire US entity including oversight of several accounting professionals
  • Own monthly closing under US GAAP, including various monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Assist in preparation of statutory accounts under US GAAP and liaise with External Auditor
  • Responsible for overall compliance and audit for US entity
  • Account reconciliations and analysis
  • Participate in projects
  • Ascertain compliance with Internal Accounting Policies and Procedures and control framework

Senior Controller Requirements:
  • CPA required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, public accounting strongly preferred
  • Software or start-up experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent US GAAP knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of audit and tax required
  • Good interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Pro-active attitude, pragmatic, team-player
  • Able to handle several projects simultaneously
  • Must be local to Washington DC metro area
