Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for one of the company’s entities, including but not limited to accounts payable, cash transactions, journal entries and maintaining fixed assets
- Support accounting entries and processes across all affiliated entities to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Perform month-end close procedures, including reconciliations of sub-ledgers and balance sheet accounts, recording monthly accruals, reviewing transactions and completing tasks required for an accurate close
- Assist in creating monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, statements and analyses for management and stakeholders
- Help develop and prepare key performance indicators (KPIs) and various financial analyses to aid in business decision-making
- Participate in the preparation for annual audits and tax filings
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with GAAP and applicable legal and tax standards
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and financial controls, working in collaboration with other accounting teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a focus on Accounting
- 3+ years of experience in financial accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP is essential
- Experience with project accounting is preferred
- Proficiency with complex accounting software; experience with Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience working in a multi-company environment with intercompany transactions
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated ability to take on new responsibilities and tasks
- High level of integrity, dependability and confidentiality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated, enthusiastic, with a positive “can-do” attitude
