Job Description

Our client, a family office with a private equity portfolio of startup and mature innovative companies, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant. This individual will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to drive important financial initiatives for the portfolio of real estate, hospitality and not-for-profit entities.

As the portfolio expands the Accounting and Finance department continues to grow. The Senior Accountant opening is budgeted for $100,000-$120,000 annual base salary, with guaranteed merit increases/raises each year.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting and Finance department including budget review and analysis
  • Investigate and resolve any accounting issues within area of responsibility; maintain general ledger accounts
  • Monitor accounts payables and receivables
  • Perform period-end financial close responsibilities
  • Prepare data for financial statements, data for quarterly and annual regulatory filings using applicable systems; duties may include preparing journal entries and coding invoices/vouchers
  • Perform complex reconciliations for area supported and analyze resulting variances; propose and prepare any adjusting entries necessary resulting from reconciliations
  • Recommend and review proposed process improvements
  • Prepare complex reports in support of internal and external audits

Senior Accountant Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • CPA required
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Real estate or Yardi experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
