Job Description
LaSalle Network has partnered with a fortune 1000 company, headquartered in Chicago, who is seeking an SEC Reporting Consultant. This role with support a major finance transformation they are undergoing and will have exposure to key leadership across the company. This role will provide crucial guidance on financial reporting requirements and ensuring compliance with SEC regulations.
 
The ideal SEC Reporting Consultant candidate will be a self-starter, utilize hands-on accounting experience and possess a broad understanding of U.S. GAAP and other technical accounting functions. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a range of finance and executive leadership, as well as contribute to the company’s long-term success.

SEC Reporting Consultant Responsibilities:
  • Assist in evaluating impact of new accounting pronouncements and financial reporting developments
  • Research technical accounting issues and present findings to appropriate levels of the Company Finance Team
  • Assist in reviewing financial press releases and materials related to the earnings release conference call to ensure accuracy of information
  • Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audit with external auditors
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as required, including goodwill and intangible impairment testing, as well as purchase price allocations for new acquisitions
  • Assist with maintenance of the Corporate Policy and Procedure Manuals including accounting policies, guidelines and SOX Internal control documents; write technical accounting memo’s
  • Once public will assist in preparation, support and review of financial statements and footnotes for quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 11-K)

SEC Reporting Consultant Requirements: 
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience OR 8+ years of experience in a financial accounting in a managerial capacity
  • Experience with Pre-IPO process and completing SEC filings
  • Experience managing special projects and meeting time sensitive deadlines
  • Experience dealing with technical accounting issues
  • CPA is strongly preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or MBA with an accounting focus
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC financial reporting
  • Experience with SEC comment letter response preparation
  • Proficient in the use of information technology including ERP systems Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to adapt to frequent environmental changes
  • Critical thinking and ability to offer suggestions and implement process improvements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
