Remote Network Consultant Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic technical guidance and governance
- Collaborate with leadership, client account teams and clients to identify and address operational risks and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in developing and implementing service/process improvements
- Work with solution architects to design and review client solutions
- Drive process enhancements and efficiency through automation
- Create network designs based on client needs and document associated technical details
- Mentor team members in technology and customer support
- Collaborate on ITSM functions with global team
- Define and oversee incident and request management processes
- Review and standardize change management processes
- Lead root cause analysis and problem management efforts
- Ensure service availability and uptime for network services
- Maintain CMDB inventory accuracy
- Implement operational best practices, including SRE practices
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements
- Travel for client workshops and internal meetings as needed
Remote Network Consultant Requirements:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to interact with technical vendors
- Proactive and self-motivated with strong ownership
- Expert knowledge in network architecture in datacenter and cloud environments
- Proficiency with Fortinet suite of products, including NGFW and SD-WAN
- Extensive knowledge of network diagnostics, protocols and disciplines
- Expertise in network automation using CI/CD toolsets
- Familiarity with common infrastructure technologies and cloud platforms
- 10+ years of experience in a complex environment with web applications
- Experience in client-facing and service delivery roles
- ITIL certification and industry-standard technical certifications are desirable
- College degree or equivalent experience preferred
