This Reimbursement Specialist will be responsible for analyzing payments to identify overpayments, duplicate payments, and refund requests, as well as processing and issuing refunds in a timely manner. Reimbursement Specialist Responsibilities:
- Analyze patient and insurance payments to detect overpayments, duplicate payments, and inconsistencies
- Accurately process and distribute refunds to patients, insurance companies, and other payers in a timely manner
- Collaborate with internal teams to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of refunds and adjustments in the system
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding refund requests and payment resolutions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to payments and refunds
- Support additional accounts receivable and revenue cycle tasks as needed
Reimbursement Specialist Requirements:
- Previous experience in reimbursement, accounts receivable, or revenue cycle management preferred
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of healthcare billing and insurance processes is a plus
