Job Description
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Print Production Designer to join our in-house client. This designer will execute production designs from the concept stage through the final hand-off for deployment.
This is a direct hire role with opportunity and growth into a senior production design position. This would be a hybrid structure (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) in the northern suburbs of Illinois.
Print Production Designer Responsibilities:
- Manage graphic and photo reproduction process to troubleshoot and resolve problematic pre-release graphic, photo and layout issues
- Review and proofread designs to ensure that copy, layout, and dimensions are print-ready
- Manage the timelines and workflow of print design projects
- Produce direct mail, catalogs, packaging, email and web graphics, sales promotions and various other print and digital collateral
Production Designer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual arts or similar
- 2+ years of experience working within a financial and/or in-house style company
- Experience in producing a range of printed materials including catalogs, textile prints and magazine designs
- Proficiency with industry desktop publishing tools including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Quark and Illustrator
- Good knowledge of print standards such as G7, GRACoL and SWOP
- You enjoy working as a team leader and will not need much direction, as you are an expert within your field
