Our client, a leading CPG manufacturer based in the southern suburbs on Chicago, is hiring a Process Engineer to join their team. As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in a high-speed food manufacturing facility, responsible for identifying and eliminating sources of waste while driving process improvements. You will utilize your engineering and lean principles to lead the plant team through waste optimization processes, assess current equipment and make suggestions for new or modifications to existing equipment to increase product yields.
Process Engineer Responsibilities:
- Identify sources of waste in the production process and develop and execute projects aimed at eliminating waste, including in-depth process work and cost-saving initiatives
- Lead projects aimed at improving processes, ensuring they are well-documented with clear descriptions of where they started, where they ended and the strategies employed to achieve results
- Focus on driving out raw material waste, specifically addressing incoming raw material cans and syrups
- Utilize engineering and lean principles to lead waste optimization efforts
- Assess equipment and propose improvements
- Collaborate with the team to achieve process improvements and cost savings
- Develop process maps and data collection strategies
- Assess the current state and work towards achieving the desired state through process improvements
Process Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain or a related field
- 10-15 years of experience
- Green or Black Belt certification is a plus
- Food/Beverage manufacturing experience
- SAP experience is a plus
