Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Penetration Tester to join our client’s cybersecurity team. As a Penetration Tester, you will play a vital role in identifying vulnerabilities within the systems, applications and networks and assessing their potential impact. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in ethical hacking, a deep understanding of cybersecurity concepts and a passion for uncovering weaknesses before malicious actors can exploit them.


Penetration Tester Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute penetration tests on various systems, applications and network infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and potential points of compromise
  • Conduct both black-box and white-box testing, simulating real-world attack scenarios to assess security posture
  • Utilize a variety of tools and techniques to exploit vulnerabilities and gain unauthorized access, adhering to ethical guidelines
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify potential security weaknesses and provide recommendations for remediation
  • Analyze and prioritize vulnerabilities based on their severity, potential impact and business risk
  • Document penetration testing methodologies, processes and findings in clear and detailed reports
  • Communicate technical vulnerabilities and potential risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for addressing identified vulnerabilities
  • Stay up to date with the latest security vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and mitigation strategies
  • Continuously improve penetration testing methodologies and techniques to adapt to evolving threats
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their security requirements and goals, tailoring penetration testing engagements accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing insights into vulnerabilities and guiding them in strengthening their security posture

Penetration Tester Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; industry certifications such as CEH, OSCP or CPT are highly desirable
  • Experience in penetration testing or ethical hacking, demonstrating a successful track record of identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems and application security
  • Proficiency in using penetration testing tools, such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap and Wireshark
  • Knowledge of common vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, SQLi, CSRF) and the ability to exploit them
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top Ten, NIST) and their application in penetration testing
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail, especially in identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information to diverse audiences and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
