Job Description
Our client within the outplacement industry is looking to add a full time Payroll Specialist to their team in Northfield, IL. This role is with a family-owned company and one of the leaders in their industry. They are adding a Payroll Specialist due to growth within their company. Our client offers a great work environment, flexible work schedule and room to grow within their organization.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery of payroll services.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Process and manage payroll for employees accurately and on time
  • Verify and reconcile payroll data, including timesheets, bonuses, deductions and commissions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to payroll and taxation
  • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies
  • Generate payroll reports and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to streamline payroll processes
  • Stay updated on payroll best practices and industry trends

Payroll Specialist Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven work experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxation and compliance
  • Proficiency in ADP and MS Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
