Job Description
LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading manufacturer in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) space who is currently upgrading their payroll software and systems. As the parent company for many household brands, their team oversees the processing for 6,000+ employees while sitting out of their downtown Chicago office.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Consultant to support this client. The ideal candidate will be a payroll expert with a deep understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations and best practices. As a Payroll Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our client in managing their payroll processes effectively, providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Payroll Consultant Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing:
    • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for assigned clients, including data input, calculations and verification
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll runs, deductions and bonuses
    • Validate payroll data for accuracy and compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Stay updated on payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and other regulatory changes to ensure clients' compliance
    • Prepare and submit payroll tax returns and reports as required by authorities
    • Assist clients with year-end tax reporting, including W-2 and 1099 forms
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes, increase efficiency and reduce errors
    • Collaborate with clients to implement process improvements and automation
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and organized records of client interactions, payroll data and compliance documentation

Payroll Consultant Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field (preferred)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus
  • Proven experience as a payroll consultant or in a similar payroll role
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and HR compliance
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and client management skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
