Job Description
Our client is a leading national holding group seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Clerk to join their team and support the financial operations.

As a Payroll Clerk you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately processing payroll, handling employee inquiries related to compensation, and assisting with various administrative tasks within the HR and finance departments. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Payroll Clerk Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing:
    • Accurately process and distribute bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees.
    • Verify time and attendance records, overtime, and deductions.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
    • Review and verify payroll data to detect and correct errors.
  • Employee Inquiries:
    • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and taxes.
    • Provide excellent customer service by addressing employee concerns and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Records Maintenance:
    • Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Keep records of payroll transactions, benefits, and tax information.
  • Tax and Compliance:
    • Prepare and submit payroll tax reports to the appropriate government agencies.
    • Stay current with changes in payroll regulations and make necessary adjustments to processes.
  • Reporting:
    • Generate payroll reports for management, HR, and finance departments as needed.
    • Prepare and distribute payroll summaries to employees.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist the HR and finance teams with various administrative tasks, such as data entry and filing.
    • Participate in special projects related to payroll and HR as required.

Payroll Clerk Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Problem-solving and customer service skills.
