Patient Service Representative Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and empathy
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring optimal use of provider schedules
- Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, including collecting co-pays and verifying insurance information
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries via phone, email, or in-person interactions
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication
- Handle billing and payment processes, providing clear explanations to patients as needed
- Address and resolve patient concerns or escalate to appropriate departments when necessary
Patient Service Representative Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and patience
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
