Job Title: Packaging Supervisor
Pay: $40/hr plus, based on experience
Duration: 3 months – possible extension
Shift: 1st Shift (preferred) – will look at candidates who want 2nd shift –
Schedule: 4 days on / 3 days off – occasional weekends (rotation)

Position Summary:
Manages all production and packaging activities to achieve safety, quality, customer service, and cost goals. This position plays a key role in a customer-driven manufacturing function focused on continuously improving performance across all metrics.
- Recommend equipment efficiency improvements and maintenance programs.
- Ensure departmental safety, operational, and quality standards are met.
- Conduct, review, and manage hourly workforce proficiency, training, and development programs.
- Coach and counsel hourly personnel.
- Participate in operating budget development and work toward meeting/exceeding goals.
- Collaborate with other supervisors/managers to share best practices.
- Ensure compliance with required quality and food safety laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in decision-making processes and collaborate with plant management.
- Lead, resolve, communicate, and escalate production floor issues to enhance productivity.
- Coordinate with other department heads to exchange information impacting production performance.

- Start-up
- Downtime
- Quality
- Line Efficiency
- Change-over duration
- Scrap
- Performance to Schedule
- Cost
- Conduct all required Job Task Meetings (JTMs) per shift.
- Lead shift turnover meetings (supervisor to supervisor, supervisor to operator, operator to crew).
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings.
- Escalate issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure quality and timeliness of data provided for production reporting and packaging documentation.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards on assigned shift.
- Strong interpersonal skills (coaching, counseling, motivation, performance, employee relations).
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Team-building skills across departments.
- Strong analytical, root cause analysis, and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and process development.
- Creative, motivated, and proactive.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook; SAP experience preferred.
- Knowledge of BRC and other food safety standards.
- Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills.
- High level of awareness and ability to multitask.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar technical discipline.
- Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification preferred.
