Manufacturing Operations Manager
Heavy Equipment / Machine Shop Environment
This is a hands-on leadership role for a driven manufacturing leader who wants real ownership. You’ll run day-to-day operations in a well-established, 70-year-old industrial manufacturer, reporting directly to the General Manager and leading a team of approximately 15 people.
This role lives on the shop floor. You’ll lead production, people, and processes—driving safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery in a machine-shop environment.
What You’ll Do
- Own daily manufacturing and operational performance
- Lead and develop a team of hourly and salaried employees
- Drive accountability, continuous improvement, and execution
- Ensure quality compliance and readiness for customer audits
- Partner directly with the General Manager on operational priorities
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience
- Hands-on machine shop background (manual or CNC machining)
- Strong leadership presence with a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset
- Experience working within structured quality systems
- Rail or heavy manufacturing experience strongly preferred
