The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and scaling the company’s marketing strategy across all growth and lifecycle channels, including email, SMS, push notifications, and more. This is a highly visible, high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is excited to shape the future of a growing brand. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a strong executor, with a proven track record in B2C marketing and experience managing performance-driven teams.
Marketing Director Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing marketing team from the ground up
- Own strategy, execution, and optimization across all growth and lifecycle channels (email, SMS, push, retargeting, etc.)
- Analyze data and user behavior to develop and refine segmentation, personalization, and engagement strategies
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to drive cohesive go-to-market strategies and campaigns
- Define and report on KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and customer journeys
- Manage marketing budgets and forecast ROI across channels
- Implement marketing automation and CRM tools to support scalable growth
- 7+ years of experience in B2C marketing, including leadership roles with increasing responsibility
- Strong expertise in lifecycle and performance marketing, especially with email, SMS, and push channels
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling a marketing team or function
- Data-driven mindset with experience working with analytics platforms and marketing automation tools
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Chicago, and able to be onsite 4 days per week
- Experience in a high-growth tech or startup environment
- Familiarity with customer segmentation, journey mapping, and A/B testing frameworks
- Working knowledge of tools like Braze, Iterable, HubSpot, or simila
