Job Description
LaSalle Network is partnered with a leading medical foundation, based in Chicago, that promotes the improvement of science and medicine to advance public health. They have a mission to develop medical professionals and provide accessible healthcare. 

They are seeking Lead Software Engineer (Python, Java) who will be responsible for leading development and technical decisions within a team focused on Data Products accessibility. This role will oversee and contribute to the development of key initiatives for new products. 

Lead Software Engineer (Python, Java) Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical strategy, evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing technologies
  • Lead the architect, design and development of large-scale distributed software services and solutions in collaboration with Product and Engineering teammates
  • Design services with a strong focus on high availability and scalability, robustness and observability
  • Automate quality assessment of large, unstructured data sources, including business rules, machine learning, text analytics
  • Architect data platform(s) capable of continually integrating new sources and refining curated data sets
  • Automate new and existing data product, marketing and customer intelligence processes
  • Assist other engineers and data scientists in engineering activities including infrastructure usage
  • Provide architectural, standards and operational oversight to engineers and contractors

Lead Software Engineer (Python, Java) Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Proficiency Python, Java or similar object-oriented languages
  • Experience in building modern data and software platform infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies
