Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Director to join our prestigious law firm. As the IT Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the firm's information technology systems, infrastructure and personnel. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in IT management, people management, vendor management and possess expertise in Microsoft technologies including O365, Azure, Windows and providing exceptional end-user support.
IT Director Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the firm's IT strategy in alignment with its business goals and objectives
- Provide visionary leadership to the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with senior management to define and prioritize IT initiatives that drive operational efficiency and enhance client services
- Lead and manage the IT team, ensuring optimal performance, professional development and a positive work environment
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities while maintaining accountability and tracking progress
- Oversee relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and other external technology partners, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to SLAs
- Negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance and ensure cost-effectiveness in technology investments
- Maintain and enhance the firm's IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, security systems and cloud services (Azure, O365)
- Monitor system performance, proactively identify potential issues and implement appropriate solutions
- Provide expertise in Microsoft technologies, including O365, Azure and Windows, ensuring their effective integration and utilization throughout the organization
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to make informed recommendations for technology adoption
- Oversee the helpdesk and end-user support functions, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues and inquiries
- Develop and maintain knowledge bases, documentation and training materials for end users
- Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain robust IT security measures and protocols
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and data protection requirements
- Develop and manage the IT budget, including cost forecasting, expenditure tracking and resource allocation
IT Director Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; master's degree is a plus
- Progressive experience in IT management and leadership roles
- Proven experience managing teams and cultivating a collaborative work environment
- Strong experience in managing relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and external vendors
- Proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including O365, Azure, Windows operating systems and end-user support
- In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, security and cloud computing concepts
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft certifications, ITIL, PMP) are preferred
- Previous experience in the legal industry or professional services is advantageous
