Job Description
Our client, a computer hardware manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced Inventory Manager to join their team! This role is on site five days a week in the northern suburbs in the Chicagoland area. This is 100% on-site.

Inventory Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to optimize stock levels, reduce stockouts, overstocks and obsolescence
  • Monitor and analyze inventory data, such as sales trends, demand forecasts and historical usage, to make informed decisions on procurement and replenishment strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, production, sales and logistics, to coordinate inventory activities and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory data, and resolve discrepancies through root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Identify and resolve inventory-related issues, such as stockouts, excess inventory and slow-moving or obsolete items, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences
  • Oversee the receiving and inspection of incoming inventory, ensure proper storage and handling and manage returns and disposal of defective or excess stock
  • Train and supervise inventory staff, provide performance feedback and conduct performance evaluations to ensure a high level of productivity and efficiency
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements and best practices in inventory management, and provide recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements

Inventory Manager Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing, distribution or retail environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify patterns and make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in using inventory management software, WMS and ERP systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers and staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in training and supervising inventory personnel
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and adapt to changing business needs
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in business required
  • Must have strong Warehouse experience
  • Experience in finished goods is required
