Job Description
Our client, an industry leader in the confectionary space, is located in Chicago and looking for a Master Scheduler to join their team. The Master Scheduler will be responsible for line scheduling, analyzing data and providing conclusions to support both the production and distribution of products.
Master Scheduler Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with procurement, production and logistics teams to gather sales forecasts, customer orders and production requirements, incorporating them into the master production schedule
- Develop and maintain a master production schedule that integrates demand forecasts, production capacities and inventory levels, considering factors such as lead times, resource availability and production constraints
- Analyze production data, including sales forecasts, inventory levels and capacity utilization, to identify potential bottlenecks, risks and opportunities for optimization
- Assess material availability, production priorities and resource capacities to optimize the master production schedule and ensure efficient production sequencing and resource allocation
- Implement supply chain planning strategies and best practices to balance production workload, minimize stockouts and optimize inventory levels
- Monitor and track production progress against the master schedule, identifying any deviations or delays, and proactively communicate with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks and adjust schedules as necessary
- Coordinate closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components, aligning with production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments
- Conduct regular meetings with production managers and teams to review and update production statuses, resolve conflicts and adjust schedules based on changing priorities or resource availability
- Provide clear and accurate reports, metrics and visual representations of production schedules, inventory levels and resource utilization to management and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in production planning and execution, propose innovative solutions and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Master Scheduler Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Master Scheduler, Production Planner or in a similar role within a supply chain or manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency in supply chain planning tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle or similar) and production scheduling software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate production and inventory data to drive scheduling decisions
