Job Description
LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) company dedicated to delivering high-quality products to consumers across the nation. With a commitment to innovation, sustainability and customer satisfaction, they have consistently grown their market presence. They are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance team in Downtown Chicago on an interim basis.

As the Interim Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a critical role in their finance department, responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts payable functions. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional who can streamline processes, ensure accuracy and promote efficiency in the client’s accounts payable operations.

Interim Accounts Payable Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training and support to ensure the department's success
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports and payments
  • Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving any payment discrepancies or issues
  • Implement best practices to streamline accounts payable processes, improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts payable records
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and accounting, to optimize vendor relationships and manage vendor performance
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes related to accounts payable and make necessary adjustments to processes

Interim Accounts Payable Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field is a plus (CPA or CMA certification also a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
