Job Description

Our client, a national leader in the insurance brokerage space, is seeking a driven and motivated Human Resources Generalist to join their growing team! Headquartered in downtown Chicago, this organization understands the value that HR can have in its strategic growth. The Human Resources Generalist is a newly created position that will work on a hybrid model (on site 2 days/week) and will be responsible for supporting the team in a generalist capacity, with an emphasis on compensation reporting and other special projects. 

The Human Resources Generalist will report to the VP of HR and will specifically focus on compensation projects, talent initiatives, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, succession planning and more. The ideal Human Resources Generalist candidate is extremely driven, goal-oriented, analytical and a strong team player!

Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities: 

  • Provide direct HR support to multiple teams across the organization, both in person and remotely
  • Oversee projects relating to the life cycle of the employee experience, from onboarding and performance reviews to succession planning and employee relations
  • Leverage HRIS (Workday) and other systems to ensure data is accurate and that changes are approved and processed efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Leverage various digital tools and spreadsheets to collect, analyze and communicate key data to leaders to facilitate educated and informed business decision making
  • Additional projects as needed

Human Resources Generalist Requirements:  
  • 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist/HRBP experience 
  • Experience in the insurance/insurance brokerage industry strongly preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
  • A solid understanding of the ever-changing state laws and proficiency or a desire to learn about HR legal requirements across the US is preferred
  • Experience remotely supporting employees in multiple locations is desirable
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing business needs and demands
