Job Description

Our client - a large privately-owned and well-known food manufacturer in Bellwood, IL - is looking for an HR Manager to join their growing HR team at this specific plant! The role is on site 5 days a week and will require occasional early mornings and late evenings, as they are a 24/7 operating facility. This HR Manager will manage 2 direct reports, report into the HR Director, and partner with managers and directors at the plant level on both tactical and strategic HR initiatives. You must be sharp, gritty, and a strong leader that is not afraid of being pushed back on when it comes to driving change across the plant. If this sounds like you, please keep reading! 

 

HR Manager Responsibilities:  

  • Manage 2 direct reports in HR 

  • Oversee both tactical and strategic HR initiatives, including employee relations, succession planning, manager and leadership coaching, change management, and more 

  • Build strong relationships and trust with plant managers and leadership 

  • Work directly under the HR Director on projects and special initiatives as needed 

 

HR Manager Requirements:  

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in HR 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience an HR Manager role 

  • Must come out of manufacturing or similar hourly-heavy industry 

  • Ideally bilingual, but not required  

  • Must be eager to make change, able to work with all different personality types, and not be afraid of pushback  

  • Bachelor's degree required
