Job Description

Join this client in Wheeling, Illinois, as a dedicated and dynamic Human Resources Generalist to contribute to continued success.

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting HR functions to ensure the workforce remains the driving force behind achievements. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration and HR compliance.

HR Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for the site, with future plans to centralize payroll as a backup function
  • Handle employee changes in the HR System (UKG)
  • Support recruiting efforts by evaluating, scheduling and interviewing candidates
  • Assist with the pre-onboarding stage of new hires
  • Lead the new hire orientation process, including reviewing benefit offerings
  • Assist employees in benefit enrollment and collaborate with the benefits team as needed
  • Ensure timely completion of weekly time approvals by management, providing assistance when necessary
  • Assist with Employee Relations concerns to maintain a positive work environment
  • Support the development and execution of employee activities and recognition programs
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of employee training and development programs

HR Generalist Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field (HR certification is a plus)
  • Proven HR experience, preferably as an HR Generalist
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations and best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong problem-solving skills
