Job Description
Our client, an industry leader in the global metal manufacturing space, is looking to bring on a Director of Human Resources to join their growing team! This is a hybrid role (on site two days/week in downtown Chicago) that will report directly to the CHRO and manage a team of five. This lead role will be a strategic business partner to varying business unites and leaders across the company and will manage all compliance, high-level employee relations investigations, labor relations, performance management, compensation initiatives and other special projects. Director of Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Serve as main point of contact for all high-level employee relations issues, employment law matters and manager coaching/advising
- Manage international hiring matters including sponsorships, immigration, relocation and compliance
- Handle special projects and assignments as needed
- Work closely with the C-suite and executive management and other business leaders
- Provide thought-leadership as a key member of the executive HR team
Director of Human Resources Requirements:
- 10+ years of human resources experience at a Business Partner or Director level
- 3+ years in a recent people-management role
- Must be out of the manufacturing space in a matrixed environment
- Ideally has union experience
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
- Innate leadership skills and ability to adapt to various changes and situations
- Bachelor’s degree required
- PHR or SPHR certification or master’s in human resources strongly preferred
