Job Description
Our client, an agriculture company located near Rice Lake, WI is seeking a Financial Analyst, Operations. This is a direct hire position and offers relocation.
The Financial Analyst, Operations will serve as the key finance representative at their location and as a member of the plant team. They will be responsible for day-to-day financial activities, plant performance analysis, forecasting and budgets. The Financial Analyst, Operations is the key point of contact to help the plant observe, report, forecast and improve financial performance.
Financial Analyst, Operations Responsibilities:
- Partner and influence plant management to drive cost initiatives and efficiency
- Analyze plant variances and report findings to plant management and operations finance weekly
- Responsible for updating plant variance forecast weekly and monthly, including explanations
- Lead the development of the annual operating budget for the responsible plant
- Walk the production floor to examine waste streams and opportunities for financial improvement
- Complete distribution of usage variance templates
- Ensure clean cut-off of process orders daily, weekly and monthly
- Complete energy report for fuel, electricity and water monthly
- Reconcile cost report labor and energy to the general ledger monthly
- Distribute daily the labor and energy usages to the cost report
- Assist plant personnel with COUPA discrepancies and vendor maintenance
- Good understanding of transaction/inventory flow and financial impact/posting
- Prepare journal entries during month-end close
- Responsible for bill of material changes and maintenance as needed
- Perform inventory audits of raw, ingredient, packaging, and spare parts quarterly
- Assist employees with obtaining AmEx and Pcard applications and training
Financial Analyst, Operations Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Proficiency in SAP, Word and Excel preferred
- Relevant work experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- 3+ years of work experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, projects and savings and cost reductions
- Strong technical, analytical and systems skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects
- Must be able to investigate complex issues and resolve problems
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
