Job Description

LaSalle Network has partnered with a fast-growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) startup based in River North, Chicago, that is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Sales & Pricing Finance to join their team and contribute to growth and success.

As the Director of Finance you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, strategic planning and decision-making for our sales operations.

This position has a salary of up to $190,000 commensurate with experience, plus bonus, and is on a hybrid schedule.

Director of Sales & Pricing Finance Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales data, financial statements and other relevant metrics to provide actionable insights to the sales team and executive leadership
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate financial performance, forecasts and variance analysis
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and manage the annual sales budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Monitor budget adherence, identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions to achieve targets
  • Support the sales team in developing pricing strategies, promotional plans and trade spend optimization to maximize revenue and profitability
  • Conduct competitive analysis to assess market trends and identify opportunities for growth
  • Utilize your extensive knowledge of the CPG industry to drive data-driven decision-making and market analysis
  • Demonstrate proficiency in handling IRI (Information Resources, Inc.) data or similar syndicated data to evaluate market trends and competitor performance
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, supply chain and finance teams to align financial objectives and ensure seamless execution of business strategies
  • Provide financial guidance and insights to support the development and implementation of sales initiatives
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales team members and evaluate their individual and team performance
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend training or development programs as needed

 Director of Sales & Pricing Finance Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of proven experience in finance or sales finance roles within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • MUST have extensive pricing architecture and vendor pricing strategy experience 
  • In-depth knowledge of IRI or similar syndicated data and its application to sales and financial analysis
  • Strong financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt to changing business needs
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience leading cross-functional teams
