Job Description

Our client, a leading logistics solution provider dedicated to delivering efficient and reliable transportation and supply chain solutions to our clients worldwide is hiring a Customs Brokerage Agent to join their team. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to contribute to our mission of providing top-notch logistics services.

As a Customs Brokerage Agent, you will play a crucial role in the efficient clearance and compliance of goods through customs. You will be responsible for ensuring that all shipments meet regulatory requirements and are processed smoothly. While certifications are not required, relevant certifications (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker) would be a plus.

Customs Brokerage Agent Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the customs clearance process for import and export shipments by preparing and submitting required documentation
  • Prepare and review all necessary customs documentation, including customs entries, commercial invoices and certificates of origin, to ensure compliance with customs regulations
  • Stay up to date with customs regulations and requirements to ensure compliance and avoid delays in the clearance process
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving customs-related issues and keeping clients informed about the status of their shipments
  • Determine the appropriate customs classifications for goods and ensure accurate duty and tax calculations
  • Proactively identify and address any customs-related issues that may arise, finding timely and effective solutions
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in all customs documentation and processes
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless customs brokerage solutions

Customs Brokerage Agent Requirements:
  • Previous experience in customs brokerage is preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight customs clearance deadlines
  • Familiarity with customs software and systems (e.g., ACE) is a plus
  • Relevant certifications such as Licensed Customs Broker are a plus but not required
