Job Description
LaSalle Network has partnered with a national leading distribution company who is seeking a Credit and Collections Representative to join its growing team in Springfield, MO! With a rich history spanning over 60 years, this company specializes in delivering top-tier products across diverse industries.

As a Credit and Collections Representative, you will play a pivotal role in managing credit operations and nurturing positive client relationships. Your primary responsibilities will encompass assessing the creditworthiness of both new and existing clients, evaluating credit applications and overseeing the settlement of invoices. While credit assessment will be a significant part of your role, you will also be responsible for collections efforts, with a strong emphasis on recovering payments from overdue accounts. You will be assigned a dedicated portfolio of clients, wherein your duties encompass account balance reconciliation, dispute resolution and the precise documentation of collection activities' progress within the ERP system.

Please note that this is a direct-hire, permanent, in-office position in Springfield, MO office.

Credit and Collections Representative Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive credit assessments for new clientele, evaluating their creditworthiness
  • Monitor and manage client credit limits, making recommendations for credit adjustments or extensions as necessary
  • Initiate communication with clients to address overdue accounts and execute collections calls
  • Collaborate with clients to resolve discrepancies and inquiries related to billing and payments
  • Methodically document all customer interactions, credit evaluations, and collection undertakings for accurate records
  • Uphold exceptional customer service standards, fostering enduring positive relationships with clients
  • Evaluate orders for approval within the ERP system, considering factors such as overdue balances, credit limits, payment history and terms
  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal departments to resolve discrepancies in billing and other pertinent matters

Credit and Collections Representative Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree in finance or accounting is preferred
  • 2+ years of prior experience in commercial credit analysis, ideally in a distribution or manufacturing context
  • Proficient in analyzing pivotal financial data and making judicious decisions pertaining to order release based on credit assessments
  • Superb communication abilities and a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong aptitude for analytical thinking and adeptness in resolving complex credit-related problems
  • Capability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and meet stipulated deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, coupled with familiarity with accounting software
