About the Role:
LaSalle Network is currently seeking a Cost Accountant for a well-established and growing food manufacturing client. This position plays a key role in tracking and analyzing manufacturing costs, supporting inventory control, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced production environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting within the food or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry and be comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, packaging, labor, and overhead

Prepare monthly cost variance reports and work with plant leadership to understand and explain fluctuations

Monitor inventory transactions and perform periodic physical inventory and cycle counts

Partner with operations to track production yields, scrap, and waste

Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations

Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to cost of goods sold

Recommend process improvements to increase cost accuracy and operational efficiency

Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

2–5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing preferred

Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis

ERP system experience (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, or similar)

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
