LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading Insurance provider in Chicago to hire on a Corporate Staff Accountant into their team to take on 50/50 blended accounting and finance responsibilities. This role will be back in office, downtown, 3 days a week and is budgeted up to a base of $85,000 with additional bonus opportunities.
This role requires all candidates to have a GPA of over 3.4. Public accounting or accounting experience within a large corporation strongly preferred.
Corporate Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory accounting principles and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with various departments to improve financial processes and systems
- Participate in special projects related to financial operations and strategy
- Assist in the preparation of reports for senior management and external stakeholders
Corporate Staff Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred
- 1+ years of experience in public accounting, preferably with exposure to insurance or financial services clients
- Strong understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
- Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
