Job Description

LaSalle Network is seeking a talented and experienced Controls and Automations Engineer to join our client’s dynamic engineering team. As a Controls and Automations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development and implementation of advanced control systems and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise to contribute to improving operational efficiency, optimizing processes and enhancing overall system performance.

Controls and Automations Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement control systems and automation solutions for various processes and equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and develop control strategies that meet project objectives
  • Conduct detailed analysis and modeling of systems, components and processes to optimize performance and ensure robustness
  • Develop and implement software applications for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and other control devices
  • Program and configure PLCs and other control hardware/software to achieve desired system functionality and performance
  • Perform system integration and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues related to controls and automation
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders during the implementation and commissioning of control systems
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to controls and automation engineering

Controls and Automations Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in controls engineering, automation engineering or a similar role within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of control system design principles, process control and automation technologies
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring PLCs, such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Schneider Electric
  • Experience with HMI development and SCADA systems
  • Solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including sensors, actuators and communication protocols
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing control systems and automation
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify effective solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines
