Contract Buyer/Planner

Our client, a leader in the CPG industry, is seeking a Procurement Buyer to join the Inventory Control Team. Procurement Buyer Responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels, ensure stock accuracy and implement strategies to minimize excess or obsolete inventory
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date transaction code documentation for all procurement, inventory management, and production planning processes
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the transaction code documentation and usage
• Evaluate supplier performance, assess lead times and optimize supplier relationships for reliability and efficiency
• Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions regarding inventory management, procurement strategies and production planning
• Collaborate with the sales and distribution teams to allocate inventory effectively, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled promptly and according to priority
• Regularly audit and reconcile inventory levels to minimize discrepancies, enhance accuracy and prevent stockouts or overstock situations

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or other related field is preferred
• 3+ years of Inventory or Supply Chain experience
• Experience using SAP is a must
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Detail oriented and strong oral and written communication skills
