A prestigious, nationally ranked university is seeking a Compensation Manager to join its dynamic Human Resources team. This role offers the opportunity to shape and manage the university’s compensation programs, ensuring equity, market competitiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Compensation Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage the university’s compensation plan and salary structures to maintain internal equity and market competitiveness
  • Conduct market analysis and interpret compensation trends to inform strategic decision-making
  • Partner with university leadership to align compensation strategy with organizational objectives
  • Provide guidance on executive compensation, labor union agreements, and salary surveys
  • Lead compensation analyses, merit processes, and system implementations
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with FLSA, pay transparency, and pay equity regulations
  • Communicate compensation policies and recommendations to managers and leaders
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance compensation programs to support talent retention

Compensation Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive compensation experience. Higher education experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of compensation laws and regulations
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or relevant certification is highly desirable
  • Expert-level Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, macros)
  • Experience with HRIS systems and compensation survey tools (CUPA, ERI, Mercer, Culpepper)
