We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving outstanding accounts receivable, reducing delinquency, and ensuring timely collection of payments. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a commitment to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and overdue payments.

Initiate contact with customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect payments.

Maintain accurate records of all collection activity and customer communications.

Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.

Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting departments to resolve account issues.

Prepare and send statements, invoices, and account summaries as needed.

Follow established procedures for collections, write-offs, and escalations.

Generate aging reports and provide regular updates to management on collection status.

Assist in evaluating credit risks and establishing payment terms for new customers.

Recommend accounts for third-party collections or legal action when necessary.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or collections.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) is a plus.

Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
