This will be a key member of the executive team and will have a strong influence on the strategy and operating aspects of the company. The CFO will lead all the finance activities of the enterprise and be responsible for all forecasting, budgeting, accounting, financial analysis, treasury/capital markets, reporting, tax functions and audit/review functions. Beyond the finance function, the CFO will also be responsible for two additional shared services areas: Information Technology (IT) and Procurement.
CFO Responsibilities:
- Work with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process
- Ensure that the company has a highly capable finance organization by continually attracting, training and developing skilled financial professionals
- Manage all accounting procedures by directing the work of the financial team and partnering with outside auditors and specialists as needed to instill best practices
- Balance division and corporate service finance functions to drive cost savings and improve overall effectiveness
- Identify the key financial levers in the businesses and implement metrics / KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) / dashboards that most effectively measure results and inform decision-making
- Develop an effective and efficient framework to maintain and strengthen the system of internal controls
- Participate with senior management in the evaluation and diligence of acquisition targets and provide financial support and expertise for potential activities, including post-acquisition integration and operations and balance sheet considerations around the funding acquisitions
- Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses while making any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the Executive Team on financial matters, investments and business initiatives
- Conducts operational analysis to pinpoint areas requiring reorganization, downsizing or elimination
CFO Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business or other appropriate discipline
- An MBA, CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or chartered accountant equivalent is highly preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in fiscal management; with 4+ years managing direct reports in finance and information technology
- Experience and understanding of process automation in financial and operational processes, including RPA
- Able to articulate a clear view to individuals and in large group settings of where a business is heading, where it has been, and its performance as compared to industry and peers
- Must be a hands-on leader with strong relationship and people skills
- Must be accustomed to working in an entrepreneurial environment with a culture of hardworking, self-motivated employees
- Proficient in the use of SAP (storage positions), MS Office
