We are seeking a skilled CDI Specialist to oversee the integrity of clinical documentation and facilitate seamless processes from front-end scripting to back-end operations for our client. This role emphasizes compliance, accuracy and optimization of workflows, particularly in specialized areas such as orthopedics, spine, neuro, total joint procedures, trauma, inpatient care, sports medicine and esports.
CDI Specialist Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and refine documentation to maintain regulatory compliance and optimize processes
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure records are accurate and meet established standards
- Serve as a liaison between clinical documentation and administrative operations to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Collaborate with teams to support specialized medical fields, focusing on the nuances of documentation in those areas
- Leverage expertise in coding and compliance to enhance the quality of documentation and support coding accuracy
CDI Specialist Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in coding and compliance within a healthcare setting; an RN license is not required
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as eClinicalWorks (eCW) and EPIC
- Active CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is required
- Familiarity with orthopedic, spine, neuro, trauma and sports medicine documentation is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
