LaSalle Network has partnered up with one of the nation’s leading healthcare providers. Our client is committed to helping people get well and live healthier. They are affiliated with 81 operate acute-care hospitals and more than 1,000 other sites of care, including physician practices, urgent care centers, freestanding emergency departments, occupational medicine clinics, imaging centers, cancer centers and ambulatory surgery centers. They are looking to hire a Cancer Registrar that is looking to grow in the industry and further build their career with this opportunity!As a Cancer Registrar you will work closely with physicians, administrators, researchers and health care planners to provide support for cancer program development, ensure compliance of reporting standards and serve as a valuable resource for cancer information with the goal of preventing and controlling cancer.
Cancer Registrar Responsibilities:
- Identify and analyze the history, diagnosis, treatment, disease status and survival data of cancer patients treated in the organization
- Prepare and electronically submit required reporting information to the state cancer database
- Collect data for patient care evaluations, protocol studies and conducting audits
- Comply with all reporting requests and requirements
- Abstract accurately all required cancer related information into the electronic tumor registry system
- Coordinate and maintain the long-term follow up process of data collection and input for all tumor registry patients
Cancer Registrar Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in health information, health sciences or related field
- Certification as a Cancer Registrar (CTR)
- Knowledge of cancer registry standards and practices
- Proficiency in use of data analysis software
- Understanding of basic medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
