LaSalle Network has partnered with a privately held, $2 billion, multi-national, industrial manufacturing company currently hiring for a Business Unit Controller. Our client has operations spanning in the automotive, fencing, hardware and power equipment sectors with a global presence including over 40 factories across three continents. The company employs more than 14,000 people in 12 countries and offers comprehensive services including engineering, quality assurance, logistics, distribution support, strategic warehousing, bi-lingual sourcing, product development and marketing.

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Unit Controller to join our client’s team in a pivotal role with significant growth potential. This position is embedded within the business unit and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial and cost information while providing critical analysis to support management decision-making. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving the financial success of the business unit.

Business Unit Controller Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the quality, accuracy and timeliness of accounting results and management reports
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Manage the monthly close process for the business unit
  • Analyze and evaluate data for forecasting, budgeting and cost control
  • Report and present monthly financial results to management, explaining variances against plan
  • Develop and report division-level KPIs
  • Assist in developing standard costs and analyzing variances
  • Analyze customer profit margins and gross margins, explaining variances against plan
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist in coordinating external audits
  • Facilitate the budget process and deliver financial presentations to the board
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Business Unit Controller Requirements:
  • B.S. in Accounting
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial software
  • Analytical and self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
