Job Description
Looking to grow your career in the Food & Beverage Industry? LaSalle Network has partnered with one of Italy’s most iconic food production companies looking to add an Assistant Plant Controller to help oversee cost and plant operations at their brand-new facility right here in the Chicagoland area. The Assistant Plant Controller will work alongside the Controller and executive management team to run all financial duties associated with their new manufacturing plant. This is a highly visible role with tremendous growth opportunity.  This position offers a competitive base salary starting at $75,000.

Assistant Plant Controller Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the month-end closing process, providing double checks and reconciliations
  • Contribute to writing and implementing controlling procedures
  • Review monthly overhead expense details to provide commentary on unusual items and trends
  • Monitor production work order consumptions to verify completeness and consistency (weekly, monthly)
  • Prepare monthly labor recaps verifying production output, labor hours, efficiencies, downtime and waste
  • Assist in periodic cycle counts, auditing and reconciling deltas
  • Review BOMs in the ERP system for consistency across multiple production plants
  • Track delta for raw materials and packaging to develop accurate scrap % for annual updates
  • Participate in the annual standard cost development in ERP
  • Work to monitor fixed asset program along with tracking startup costs for new production lines
  • Track production metrics and develop KPI for usage/rates monitoring of the Cost of Production
  • Assist in costing development of new products

Assistant Plant Controller Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance required
  • 1-3 years of Analytical experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience working with a large ERP system; JD Edwards and SAP is a plus
  • Proficient financial modeling skills
  • Experience running cost analysis
