Job Description
LaSalle Network has partnered with a major family of food brands to hire an Air Quality Compliance Manager to work out of their Oak Brook, IL office. This company offers growth opportunity.

The Air Quality Compliance Manager will manage the development, execution and ongoing regulatory support of air emissions and permitting efforts related to North America engineering and manufacturing operations. 


Applicants must have the ability to travel though out North America, with expected travel up to 50%. This role will be on a hybrid schedule.
 
Air Quality Compliance Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver the development of Title V and Synthetic Minor air permits for manufacturing facilities
  • Manage and provide support to manufacturing teams on air permit renewals
  • Attend regulatory agency meetings for new projects and or compliance related issues
  • Subject matter expert on air emissions regulatory requirements for capital projects involving air emissions (fryer, dryers, boilers, HVAC, etc.)
  • Provide internal air regulatory ‘assessment’ for modelling support and compliance requirements for new expansion projects
  • Manage consultants on permit application, modelling and reporting on emission control technologies for capital investments
  • Work with cross functional teams on understanding, communicating and incorporating regulatory requirements for air emissions related to “de-bottlenecking” and “expansion/increased production line rates” at manufacturing facilities
  • Develop and coordinate air permit applications for capital projects
  • Oversee the design and review of equipment and systems using corporate standards
  • Prepare project specifications and/or tender documents
  • Manage release of design input to suppliers (contractors, component suppliers, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of new installation techniques and standards
  • Manage the resolution of technical issues identified by suppliers
  • Manage technical documents provided by suppliers
  • Maintain understanding of manufacturing processes (parameters of operations) and impacts to facility emissions because of process control changes
  • Develop best practices with manufacturing teams for stack testing (fryer, dryers, boilers, etc.)
  • Plan, organize and attend regulatory stack testing at manufacturing facilities
  • Interpret results of stack tests
  • Develop best management practices for emissions control devices within the North American Network; integrate into plants business routines, regulatory compliance and environmental management systems
  • Maintain full and comprehensive understanding of air quality rules and regulations in the jurisdictions they operate (Federal, State, Provincial Local, Title V, Syn Minor, NSPS, NESHAP, RICE, etc.)
  • Interface with external consultants on air permit compliance requirements
  • Manage annual NPRI and TRI reporting programs
  • Manage annual GHG reporting programs in US/Canada 
  • Manage and develop in-depth customer air emissions database: stack testing, historical records, emission factors, etc.
  • Support manufacturing facilities on annual air emissions inventory reporting
  • Support manufacturing facilities on daily air emissions spreadsheets
  • Support manufacturing facilities on air emissions regulatory compliance and provide strategic direction on reporting requirements
  • Attend routine training classes and seminars on relevant air emissions courses
  • Interface with manufacturing facilities related to ISO14001 environmental management systems (EMS) and Customer MDI programs where applicable
 
Air Quality Compliance Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ME/EE/IE/ChE) or related field, or equivalent related experience
  • 8+ years of air permitting and air quality management in a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with processing techniques
  • Experienced in the development and maintenance of plant system documents, process flow sheets, block diagrams, schedules and spend tracking
  • Experience using AutoCAD
