After five years as a senior staff accountant with a recently acquired mid-sized financial services firm, Tom was laid off when his department’s function was centralized out of state.

Tom came to LaSalle after being out of the workforce for over a year and while working to obtain his CPA. Tom was open to contract work to get his foot in the door of a stable organization, and LaSalle’s client, an industrial distributor of maintenance and repair supplies, was in need of a staff accountant for a four month contract. The role would aid with document support, compliance, audit requirements and month end close. Tom interviewed and started just over a month after his initial LaSalle interview. Tom exhibited stellar performance during his four month contract and his employment was extended indefinitely, including a raise after the first six months.
